I created this blog to find out what happened to DeMarlon, a subject of MTV’s True Life – I’m Dead Broke tv series. I watched it last night, and it broke my heart. At the time of filming (over 2 years ago), DeMarlon was a desperately poor 19 year old trying to help out his family, and studying to get into the army. At the end of the show, he learned he couldn’t even take the entrance exam, because he was on probation. Two years. No prospects. He could barely read, but his earnestness and heart seemed so real, and so hopeful. Does anyone know what happened to DeMarlon?

Does anyone know what happened to DeMarlon? I so hope he got into the army, or at least ended up having his life take a turn for the positive.

I know this is very old posting , but Ive thought about this for awhile. I hope that he is alright and his family. I see that someone started a fund for him. I always have a soft spot in my heart for people in the predicament that he was strugling with. I wish mtv would have some kind of update on him and others. His story is almost like country boys, look it up if you really want to see this story. It will touch your heart.

Pembroke, IL isn’t too far from me. If anyone could get some idea of where he is I would love to take food and some money to him. I will let you guys know what is going on if I can find him.

I searched his name on my army white pages wich is a pretty complete listing of service members emails and I couldnt locate him so as far as I can tell he hasnt gotten in yet

i just watched the episode of true life on mtv and DeMarlon’s story broke my heart! i read that he has a new baby girl and i want to help him so much! i am going to pitch the idea of my school raising money to donate to the hope for hopkins fund, and i would also love nothing more than to help Sandra. I have a huge soft spot for these two!

Man, 6 years later and I can’t find anything on this guy. I hope things worked out for him. I wish MTV would make an update for these people. The last update had a bunch of people I didn’t care about lol

^^ Cosign. Ive been trying to find updates on all 3 for years, havent been able to find anything. I wish mtv would update us.
